Mini-Split Systems — Install, Service & Repair

Ductless mini-splits are the smartest way to cool add-ons, garages, workshops, and older homes without ductwork — if they're installed and serviced right. We do both.

A ductless mini-split (heat pump) moves the refrigerant line — not the air — between an outdoor condenser and one or more indoor wall or ceiling units. The result: precise room-by-room comfort, no duct loss, ultra-quiet operation, and SEER2 ratings north of 22 on premium systems. They're perfect for garages, workshops, bonus rooms, sunrooms, in-law suites, converted attics, and older Louisiana homes that never had ductwork.

What we handle

Mini-split installation done right

We size every system with a Manual J load calculation — not a rule-of-thumb guess. Wrong size equals short-cycling, humidity problems, and a compressor that dies early. Lines get flared, vacuum-pulled to 500 microns, and pressure-tested before charging. That's the only way to get 15+ years out of the system.

Mini-split service & maintenance

Mini-splits have their own maintenance needs — especially the indoor head blower wheel, which most general HVAC companies skip. We pull the wheel, deep-clean it, sanitize the drain pan, and clean the condenser coil. Twice a year is right for Louisiana humidity.

Mini-split repair

Blower wheel imbalance, communication errors between indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant leaks at flare connections, frozen coils, bad EEV valves — mini-splits fail differently than central systems. Our techs are Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor and Fujitsu Elite certified and carry the right diagnostic tools on every truck.

Brands we install & service

Mitsubishi Electric (including Hyper-Heat for cold snaps), Fujitsu Halcyon, Daikin Aurora, LG Art Cool, Senville, Pioneer, MrCool, Samsung, Gree, and Bosch. If you have a brand not listed, call — we probably service it.

When a mini-split is the right answer

You're adding square footage (garage conversion, bonus room, shop), you have a room that's always too hot or too cold, your home has no ductwork, you want zone-by-zone control to cut energy bills, or you're worried about older duct leakage eating 25–40% of your cooling.

Our process — four steps, zero surprises

  1. Book in two minutes. Online or by phone. Confirmation within the hour.
  2. Text when we're rolling. Tech photo, live ETA, and a real window — not a 4-hour guess.
  3. Diagnose and quote flat. We walk you through what we found, show you the part, and quote in writing. Nothing starts without a yes.
  4. Install or fix it and back it up. Most jobs done in one visit. Every install carries a workmanship guarantee.

Typical pricing

Typical price range
$3,500 – $12,500 installed

A single-zone mini-split (one indoor head) typically runs $3,500–$5,500 installed. Multi-zone systems (2–5 heads) run $6,500–$12,500+ depending on heads, tonnage, and line-set length. Service calls start at $89 diagnostic, waived with repair.

Frequently Asked

Mini-Split Systems — Install, Service & Repair — Questions

Do you install mini-splits in garages and workshops?

Yes — this is one of our most common installs. A 12,000–18,000 BTU single-zone system handles most 2-car garages and workshops. We size based on insulation, door openings, and usage.

How long does a mini-split installation take?

Single-zone installs are typically one day. Multi-zone systems with longer line-set runs can take two days. We protect floors, clean up every day, and walk you through the remote before we leave.

Will a mini-split heat in a Louisiana cold snap?

Standard heat pumps work down to about 20°F. For rare deep-cold events, we install Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat or equivalent cold-climate units that deliver full capacity down to 5°F. For most Louisiana homes, a standard heat pump is plenty.

Can you service a mini-split I bought online or installed myself?

Yes. DIY mini-splits (MrCool, Senville) are common — we service and repair them the same as any other brand. If the original install has issues (bad flare, no vacuum, overcharged), we'll document it and quote to fix.

How often should mini-splits be serviced?

Twice a year — ideally spring and fall. The indoor head blower wheel collects dust and biofilm faster than a central AC coil. A proper tune-up catches it before it tanks airflow or grows mold.

Are mini-splits more efficient than central AC?

Yes — significantly. Top mini-splits hit SEER2 25–33, compared to 14–18 for standard central systems. Combined with zero duct loss, most homes see 20–40% lower cooling bills on converted areas.
