HVAC Maintenance & Seasonal Tune-Ups

The cheapest way to keep your AC alive is to catch problems before they become repairs. Here's what a real Signature Air tune-up includes.

Louisiana HVAC systems work harder than almost any others in the country — we cool for seven months, heat for three, and fight humidity year-round. A twice-yearly professional tune-up catches the small stuff (dirty coil, weak capacitor, loose contactor) before it takes down the whole unit in July at 4 PM. Over the life of a system, most homeowners who maintain save 2–3x what they spend on maintenance.

What's included in a real tune-up

25-point inspection

We check every capacitor, contactor, relay, motor, refrigerant pressure, superheat/subcool, airflow, and static pressure — not a 'look, wipe, leave' visit.

Coil cleaning inside & out

Dirty coils are the #1 efficiency killer. We pull panels, clean the outdoor condenser coil, and inspect (and clean, if reachable) the indoor evaporator coil.

Refrigerant check

We verify the charge is correct using actual pressures — under/overcharge kills compressors. If we find a leak, we tell you and quote — we never just top off.

Drain line flush

Louisiana humidity means your condensate line runs wet and constantly. We flush it to prevent the #2 cause of summer emergency calls: water leaks from a clogged line.

Electrical tightening

Heat cycles loosen electrical connections. Loose connections cause burn-outs. We tighten every screw and terminal, every visit.

Safety & combustion check (heating)

On gas systems, we verify combustion, test the heat exchanger for cracks, and check every safety switch. Peace of mind is the real deliverable.

Our process — four steps, zero surprises

  1. Book in two minutes. Online or by phone. Confirmation within the hour.
  2. Text when we're rolling. Tech photo, live ETA, and a real window — not a 4-hour guess.
  3. Diagnose and quote flat. We walk you through what we found, show you the part, and quote in writing. Nothing starts without a yes.
  4. Fix it and back it up. Most repairs done in one visit. Every job carries a workmanship guarantee.

Why Signature Air

We're a small, veteran-owned HVAC company based in Livingston Parish. Our techs earn a salary — not commission — so the repair we recommend is the one your house actually needs. We service every major brand (Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, American Standard, York, Daikin, Amana, Ruud), we carry the top 50 failure parts on every truck, and we answer our own phones 24/7.

If you're looking for a Baton Rouge or Livingston Parish HVAC company that shows up when they say they will, quotes flat, and doesn't try to sell you a new system during a $200 repair — that's us.

Called at 9 AM on a Saturday when our AC died. A tech was in the driveway by 11:30 and we had cold air by 1 PM. Honest estimate, no upsell.

The team installed a new Trane system for us. Showed up on time, laid down drop cloths, and left the garage cleaner than they found it. Worth every dollar.

Joined the Care Club last spring. They caught a failing capacitor during the tune-up before it left us sweating in August. Smartest $16/mo we spend.

Frequently Asked

HVAC Maintenance & Seasonal Tune-Ups — Questions

How often should HVAC be serviced?

Twice a year — spring (AC) and fall (heating). Manufacturer warranties on modern systems often require annual professional maintenance to stay valid.

What's the benefit of joining the Care Club?

Two tune-ups per year, priority scheduling during heat waves and cold snaps, 15% off all repairs, waived diagnostic fees, and transferable if you sell your home. From $16/month — less than the cost of a single service call.

Will maintenance really save me money?

Yes. EPA studies show a well-maintained system runs 10–25% more efficiently and lasts 4–7 years longer than a neglected one. On a $10,000 system, that's real money.

What if you find a problem during the tune-up?

We tell you, show you, and quote flat — no surprises. Care Club members get 15% off any repair done during or within 90 days of a tune-up.

Do I need to be home for the tune-up?

Someone 18+ should be home at the start so we can access the thermostat and indoor unit — most visits take 45–75 minutes.

Do you maintain mini-splits?

Yes. Mini-splits have their own maintenance needs (especially indoor head blower wheel cleaning) that most general HVAC companies skip. We do it right.
